Bio: Obsidian Ammolite was born into a small village in Zebrica with her mother, father, sister and cousin that lost her parents. She lived a simple life, but with a very unique gift. Obsidian was born with rainbow scaled plates on her stomach. It seemed that no other member of her family was born with this deformity. She was often teased and made fun of by the others because they were jealous that such a simple dog would have such a blessing. Her mother would often tell her to hold her head up high and remember these plates were given to you for a reason. Obsidian remembers to keep herself humble and to treat others with kindness. However, she also had a very curious nature and questioned on where she got the plates and why does she have them. This caused her to become intrigued by organic chemistry. She hopes if she became the best, she would be able to unveil the mystery that is her rainbow plates. Now, she is top chemist in the University of Chanterlot, and has developed three most prestigious experiments that won her the Nabel peace prize. To this very day, she still is trying to unlock the mystery of her rainbow plates.

Personality: She is shy at first. Due to the continuous teasing that she got when she was a child. She does not choose to speak first. She would wave or make certain gesture at strangers, but never speaks firsts and tries to coaster into a conversation. When, she gets to know you. She is very kind, sweet and talkative. At times she can be confusing in her verbal expressions because she often mixes chemistry concepts and vocabulary with normal conversation. She seems to be really attached Ruby being she is the complete opposite of her. Due to Ruby’s firey spirit in which Obsidian is born from, they have a very strong bond with each other. She likes the other Diamond Dogs, but bumps heads with Topaz. She often likes to challenge her being Obsidian feels she is rude, overall arrogant, and has no respect for personal space. She noticed that the other diamond dogs seem to be infatuated by her “charms” and easily give into her demands. Obsidian wants to prove that she can get over this hurtle just like everything she has done before.

• Obsidian has a Kenyan accent.
• She can speak five different languages. This includes Russian, French, Portuguese, Japanese, and Italian. However, she is not fluent in Portuguese.
• Obsidian is OCD when it comes to labeling chemicals.
• She dislikes when she has to wash the beakers (Test tubes and Distillation beakers).
• She likes to have rice and beans in the morning for breakfast.
• When she meets someone with similar anime/manga interest. She will take a deep breath and start rambling about it. This is her geek moments.
• She doesn’t like sports except for swimming. She does not like to sweat but she does like getting wet.
• Obsidian has a hard time hold test tubes because she has big paws. So she likes to use the 10 ml or 25 ml beakers.
• Her cousin use to call Ami when they were little.
• She is not a fashionista type. When it comes to shopping with her favorite friends. She is completely clueless.
• Obsidian is okay with not wearing any clothing because of her rainbow plate. She feels that wearing clothing will make her heavier and it would be harder to move around.
• She likes to send letters to family every Wednesday .
• She likes to have Chinese every Friday, ordering Beef or chicken and broccoli, a eggroll and pork rib tips.
